Update
Well, I was hoping to have some baby pictures to post by now but no such luck. The doctor says everything is looking good and ready to go, it's just the waiting game now. He stripped me on Tuesday hoping it would help but all it did was give me some killer false labor pains. And it's made everyday seem longer and longer. I don't think it was quite worth it! But at least there is an end in sight. My induction date is March 1 but I really hope I don't make it until then. In fact I'm really hoping to get out of work on Monday! We'll see!

Baby Gender Take Two
Well, we had another ultrasound this week and got a final confirmation that it is a girl! We are both way excited! My belly had finally arrived and I swear it grows everyday. It just popped up one day and seems to just keep getting bigger and bigger. I am now enjoying the world of super cute maternity clothes and nothing fitting quite right. Talk about a good way to make yourself feel unattractive! Other than that I'm feeling good and just waiting! This picture is at 26 weeks (well technically 25 wks 6 days but whose counting).

Ultrasound!
So we actually had our ultrasound a few weeks ago, but we've been crazy with some work we're doing on our house so I'm just now getting around to posting. And besides that we ran into a little speed bump. So we're sitting there in the doctors office, everything looking good with the baby (phwew!) and it comes time to do the gender identification. So the doctor looks and looks some more and finally after a few minutes of jiggling my belly trying to get the thing to move, he says "Well, the legs are crossed so I can't tell what the gender is. But don't worry we'll do another ultrasound when you come next month and see if we can tell then." WHAT?! I wanted to say you're joking right? Can't I do some jumping jacks or something to get it to move? You are going to make us wait a whole MONTH to come back!! And that was the end of it. He said if he were to guess he would say girl but he wouldn't say for sure. We both walked out of the office like, did that really just happen? They can see this dark spot in the brain or that area where the kidney is but they can't tell if it has parts or not? Anyways, unable to stand the suspense I called up my friend who is going through the radiology program and asked her if she wanted to practice on me. Her vote also went to girl and she seemed pretty confident but Justin is still a little leary on that diagnosis. So hopefully after one more ultrasound next week we will be able to tell for sure. Third times a charm. Anyways, here's some pictures of our cute, modest probably a girl! We got good pictures from both ultrasounds but the one from my doctor you have to scan in and my scanner's having issues.

This a picture of the face. That one eye kept showing up out of no where like a scary movie or something!

Exciting News!
Well I guess it's finally time to break the news . . . We are having a baby! Exciting and very scary at the same time! I am 17 weeks and feeling good now. I was a little sick at the beginning and very out of energy but I really didn't have it too bad so I am thankful for that. We had our third doctors appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again which was comforting. For some reason I always get nervous that something is going to be wrong so it is such a relief when the appt is over. I guess that's why it's taken me so long to post this. Please don't tell me I'm going to be an overprotective, nerve-racked mom! We get to have another ultrasound next month to find out what it is. I'm so excited to see the baby again since our first ultrasound looks like a little bug laying on it's back. And we are both dying to know what it is. Justin is confident it is a boy because he says he needs a little "huntin' buddy". I really don't have an incling either way and don't really have a preference although I would love to doll a little girl up. Pregnancy has been an interesting journey so far and I'm just glad I'm over the first part of it. The first part seemed to take an eternity and it just seemed that you feel crappy and your body is doing all these weird things for no reason. I'm enjoying it more now and it feels like things are progressing at a little faster pace. Although I'm really ready to be out of the in between stage where people aren't sure if you're pregnant or if you've just been eating too many twinkies. I've been feeling "it" move for the past few days which is a cool but weird feeling. It's still weird to think that there is something alive and moving inside me! Anyways stay tuned for pictures of baby Whatcott next month!

Update
Well, I've slacked again and haven't been keeping up on posting, so here's a quick update. We went to Lake Powell in June with Justin's brother and his family, which was heavenly. I think that's becoming my favorite vacation. No makeup, no cell phones. All you have to worry about is what you are going to eat next and if you want to tube or kneeboard. And thanks to Jay and Wendy for the awesome place to stay. I'm not much of a beach camper!

Justin ran another marathon in June. He did the Utah Valley Marathon with the fire department. It was cool to see all the fire guys that were able to run it!I was the faithful fan at the finish line again!
And lastly we got the awesome opportunity to go to Appleton, Wisconsin a couple weeks ago to visit the newest member of the Pleasant Grove Fire Dept. They are building a new fire truck and we were able to go with the two chief's and their wives to make an inspection on it. I would post pictures but my life and my husbands job have been threatened if we reveal anything about the truck. It's a BIG SECRET! Aside from what I can't tell, I can say that we got to take tours of the factories and see how a fire truck is made which was actually really cool. Stay tuned for the new trucks debut in August! It's going to be "one bad motha"!
